To sit for one's portrait is like being present at one's own creation. ~Alexander Smith
I have a genuine passion for the painted portrait. I find that to be a witness to, and to attempt to capture, the beauty, fierceness, courage, tenderness, innocence, or any other quality in each individual, is both humbling and profound. The challenge of not just seeing, but effectively representing, the nature and character of a person is one I will never tire of.
I typically work together with my clients to create a deeply individual painting, using still life objects or a landscape/setting, of personal significance. Sometimes they let me take the liberty to create one of "my" paintings: incorporating the sitter into the work I am currently doing, or tuning into their unique qualities and bringing forward the story I see in them.
Please contact me for a list of options and prices or to discuss your ideas and inspiration. I look forward to working with you!
